You are invited to participate to the international Marine and Sub-Marine Infrastructures symposium MSI 2012, to be held in Toulon, France, between the 13th and the 15th November 2012, organized by Ifremer for the European projects SEAS-ERA and EUROFLEETS.
SEAS-ERA is an FP7 Era-Net project which aims to support and strengthen the coordination and the integration of national marine sciences programs and their related research infrastructures, at both Regional and pan-European levels.
EUROFLEETS is an FP7-I3 project (Integrated Infrastructures Initiative) dedicated to research vessels and their underwater equipment. One of its key networking tasks is dedicated to strategic coordination vision of research fleets and associated equipment including underwater vehicles.
The Ifremer Toulon centre is located in the harbour of La Seyne-sur-Mer in the west end of the Toulon Bay. It hosts the «European Centre of Underwater Technologies» (CETSM) which activities are focused on underwater technology. A lot of French underwater operational systems, Coastal AUV and gliders fleets, Deep-sea Victor 6000 ROV and the manned submersible Nautile are based there.
Ifremer is member of the internationally-oriented “Pôle MER PACA” (Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur) competitiveness cluster which brings together key players from the worlds of industry, research and education working in the areas of safety and security and in sustainable development. Numerous companies involved in marine technologies are based in the area.
